The lounge is definitely the place to relax and do your own thing at West Vale. Roaring log fire in the cooler months, sumptuous furniture to spread out and maybe kick off your shoes Have a drink from the bar, a bite to eat, listen to music, read or just take in the fantastic views from the large bay window overlooking Beatrix Potters Cottage, Grizedale Forest and the Old Man of Coniston which is snow capped for most of the winter months.  (See our food platters below-they are available for suppers, late arrivals or just a lunchtime snack).
