The Hotel

A Fine Country House In The Heart Of the Lake District

West Vale stands in its own grounds, offers ample off road car parking for the comfort of our guests and is non smoking throughout.

The house has been renovated and re-furbished in traditional style to a very high standard. This is complemented by fine antique furnishings and prints.

Breakfast is special at West Vale. Traditionally English in style and cooked to our exacting standards. For those who prefer something lighter or a little different there are continental and vegetarian options on offer, with the addition of our a la carte breakfast menu.

All our en-suite bedrooms are individually furnished to a highest of standards and benefit from splendid views. Bedrooms have tea/coffee making facilities; flat screen digital colour TV's, Radio alarms, Hairdryers, Bath Robes, Molton Brown toiletries and a complementary glass of Sherry waiting for you in your room. For your convenience, you will find a Iron and ironing board in every room.

This, coupled with our policy of continual improvement ensures that your experience of time spent at West Vale Country House is unlike time spent anywhere else.

Afternoon Tea/Platters

Our afternoon tea menu is always a special treat at West Vale and can be taken in the lounge or on the terrace on warm days.  Also on offer are our famous platters. A selection of meats or cheeses along with hand made pickle and chunky breads. Just the thing to have waiting in your room for late arrivals or to order any time during the day or evening.

Antony Worrall Thompson and Paul Rankin loved our accommodation, food and fantastic hospitality when they stayed with us at West Vale Country House for a few days during filming in the Lakes.

Please Appreciate, West Vale has a bar and comprehensive wine list offering wines from all over the world. As a licensed accommodation provider only alcoholic beverages bought from our bar may be drunk on the premises.
